Assembly election results: Telugu Desam Party leads in Andhra Pradesh, BJP in Odisha
While the Telugu Desam Party has won seven seats so far, its ally the Jana Sena Party bagged Andhra Pradesh's Rajanagaram and Narasapuram constituencies.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in Odisha Assembly polls crossing the halfway mark. In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party has also taken a significant lead in the state Assembly polls.
Andhra Pradesh has 175 Assembly seats, and the majority mark is 88. Odisha has 147 Assembly constituencies, with 74 being the halfway mark.
Leads
In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party is currently leading in 131 constituencies including, Rajahmundry City, Santhanuthalapadu, Kadapa, Dhone and Mydukur, according to the Election Commission.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party is leading in 16 constituencies including Pulivendla and Anaparthy. The Jana Sena Party is leading in 20 constituencies in the southern state and its ally the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in seven seats.
The Telugu Desam Party has won in seven seats so far including the Rajahmundry Rural and Undi constituencies, while its ally the Jana Sena Party has won from Rajanagaram and Narasapuram constituencies. The BJP has won Anaparthy constituency.
In Odisha, the BJP is leading in 80 seats while the Biju Janata Dal is leading in 50 seats. The Congress is leading in 15 seats in Odisha while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in one seat, according to data shared by the Election Commission.
