Dixon unit gets laptop manufacturing contract from Lenovo
Several months following the government's endorsement of a revised production-linked incentive (PLI) for IT hardware, Lenovo, the Chinese tech giant, has opted to outsource its laptop and notebook production to RepPadget Electronics. RepPadget Electronics is a subsidiary of Dixon, a prominent domestic contract manufacturing company. Dixon, which recently entered into a contract manufacturing arrangement for smartphones with the Chinese phone leader Xiaomi, asserted that this new agreement would contribute to reinforcing the government's Make in India initiative and provide a boost to local Indian manufacturers.
