Frontex, the EU's border agency, will send reinforcements to Finland to help police its borders amid suspicion of Russian involvement in an influx of migrants. The reinforcement will include 50 border guard officers, patrol cars, and additional equipment. Finland has seen a significant increase in migrants without proper visas and documentation, with around 600 arrivals this month. Finnish authorities have closed four Russia border crossings and plan to leave only one open for asylum seekers. Finland's border with Russia is the EU's easternmost frontier and a part of NATO's northeastern flank.
