First of 20 aid trucks enter besieged Gaza from Egypt
The first shipment of humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. The trucks, carrying essential supplies, were allowed in following a request from the United States. UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths expressed confidence that this delivery would be the beginning of a sustained effort to provide aid to the people of Gaza. However, Israel has expressed concerns about the potential misuse of fuel brought into Gaza by Hamas.
