Russia has admitted that Ukrainian forces have crossed onto the eastern bank of the River Dnipro, but claims that they will face severe consequences. The average life expectancy of a Ukrainian soldier in that area is said to be about two days. Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chief of staff confirmed that Ukrainian forces have secured a foothold on the east bank. However, the Russian-installed governor of the region claimed that Russian forces have trapped the Ukrainians and are heavily attacking them, predicting their annihilation.
