The Thai Senate has given its approval to the marriage equality law in the final reading. The legislation will now be presented to King Maha Vajiralongkorn for his royal assent. Thai legislators gathered to cast their votes on the same-sex marriage legalisation bill. Thailand could potentially became the first nation in Southeast Asia to recognize marriage equality. This also makes Thailand the third territory in Asia, following Nepal and Taiwan, to legally acknowledge same-sex couples and their rights.
