UK made additional payment to Rwanda, says unrelated to deportation scheme
Britain paid Rwanda an additional 100 million pounds in April for the economic development and growth of the country. This payment, which was not previously disclosed, is on top of the 140 million pounds paid last year. The British government also anticipates an additional payment of 50 million pounds next year as part of the same fund. The payment is separate from the treaty signed to revive the deportation scheme for asylum seekers, which was ruled to violate human rights laws.
